New News

For a lot of you this is new news.  I have a job.  It is not something that I initially thought that I would do since I have a dual Master's degree in Business but I am a school teacher.  I am at a school with some very interesting characters.  I though that my kids would provide me with enough interesting things to add to my blog but it seems as if I never have the time to write it.  Now with my new job my time is even more limited.  However, I have to make some time each night to write this stuff down because these kids are providing me with a plethora of things to discuss.

The Latest Update

Since I have written last there are a lot of things that have been happening in our lives. For those of you that I have not spoken to, Willie and I did graduate on May 13th with our MS/MBA’s. Now that that chapter of our lives I over I have begun my job search. So far I have not had any leads but I am still putting my resume out there. The boys are still providing some excitement in our lives. A couple of weeks ago, I had the scariest moment of my life so far. Yesterday Xander, Liam and I went to Marshalls to do some window shopping. When we get in the store I put Liam in the cart and Xander walks beside the cart. As we are walking through the store Xander and Liam were playing as usual. Liam had a shirt in his hand and he was hitting Xander on the head with it. Xander picked up a helmet and put it on. I took the shirt from Liam and told Xander to put the helmet back. I turned and put the shirt down. My cell phone rang I called out Xander’s name. Said hello to the person on the phone, and told them to hold on. I then began to call Xander’s name again much louder. No answer. I told the person on the phone that I was going to have to call them back because I could not locate Xander. At this point I began to panic. The sales associate asked me if I need help. I told her that I could not find my son. She immediately went over to the stores PA system and called over the loud speaker that there is a code Adam. The manager locked the front door. We all began to call out Xander’s name. At this point as I am running around the store I call Willie to let him know that Xander is missing. As I run back to the toys again screaming Xander’s name. The manager announces over the PA system could Alexander’s mother please come to the front of the store. Xander was standing there with the manager as I approached the front of the store. The manager asked Xander if I was his mother. My beautiful son looked at me and saw the anger/joy/anxiety on my face and replied “No”. Then Liam said OOOOOHHHHH Xander you in trouble. The manager asked again if I was his mother. He put his head down and said “Yes”. I then told Xander that he knows better than to walk away from me. He nicely stayed by my side until we left the store. After a long lecture Xander still walked away from me in another store. Go figure, maybe one day he will get the point. Not that I have to worry about anyone taking him…They would bring him back after 5 minutes and pay me to keep him…

The Big Day

Will and I have been really busy preparing for graduation on Saturday the 13th. We are happy that the day has finally come and we are planning to celebrate! To all those that have wished us well over the past 4 years, we want to day Thank you. We really appreciate all the support from all of you. I am sorry that I have not been keeping up my blog. I have been really busy with the boys since school finished. Between the doctor appointments, surgery and follow ups I have been running almost everyday. I decided to take a minute out in between cleaning to update the blog.
For all those that are in the loop. Xander is doing much better. He has not reported any pain today and he had a ball playing with all the kids today. We had another round of kickball (which seems to be the favorite event around here), a quick game of baseball and a round of scooter riding and bike riding. Xander has a friend named Alex that he likes to play with and Liam is the little brother to most of the kids that we let the boys play with so he was pampered and spoiled for the whole time. Jordan of course is the cool kid. He is enjoying having lots of friends to play with. Although I will admit he still misses his best friend in Missouri. So Jordan Grant, Jordan Tate says hello!!!
I have to go back to cleaning. I have to finish the basement tonight and finishing prepping for painting in the morning. I also have to buy food and run a couple of other errands tomorrow. This should be a fun day. I also have to finish cleaning the middle level. And I have to clean the carpets as well. I also have to finish cleaning upstairs and get ready for my guests that are arriving Friday afternoon. Friday night I have to start setting up and I have to get ready for Saturday morning’s graduation. I am a little overwhelmed but it will all get done. (I Hope )

Finally

Ok. Here is something that I have been waiting to say for the past four years. I am finally finished with my Masters of Science/Master of Business Administration degrees with the University of Maryland. After four long years, and two babies later I am finally done. I should feel elated. I am sure that a lot of people would say that this is quite an accomplishment. I am excited but I am concentrating on getting a job now so my stress level is still pretty high. I am also on the hunt for a great daycare for Xander and Liam and academic stress after school care for Jordan. It is a lot that is still on my plate although school is no longer there. I am excited though about school finishing really. I am just PMS’ing this week so I am not giddy. I have been reading everyday though. I am up to two books a day. Give me a couple of hours to myself and a huge glass of water and I am good to go. Now I have to coordinate being able to spend five minutes by myself. I tried today to go and get my hair down but it did not happen. I was VERY upset about that. So I am back to wearing scarves and hats again. I am sure that is a great sight to behold. That is another reason why all the pictures that I have do not have me in them.
Now that I have time I can update my blog regularly. So you can begin to expect a lot of updates at a more frequent rate. I just hope that more of the readers start to respond so that I know that I am not talking to myself.

New Color and Rank for Jordan

Here is the latest news on Jordan.  He tested Friday and Saturday and got his red belt in Tae Kwon Do.  He has two more belts before he gets to black belt.  He also had been trying out for about a month for the Black Belt Club at his Do Jang.  Thirty kids tried out only six made it.  Jordan is one of the six!  He is so happy.  That means that he gets to put in extra work.  Go to class 3 days during the week and is there on Saturday from 10 am until 1 pm.  It is alot of extra work but he says that he is up to it.  We are so proud of him.  He has worked very hard for this.

Xander's day from Kleptomaniac to Super Hero

Every time we go into the Disney Store my children feel the need to play with the toys as much other kids do. In the past we have had to take numerous toys away from them just so that we can leave the store. Xander seems to have gotten wise to the toys game. Yesterday we went to The Disney Store to pick up our copy of Chicken Little that we pre-ordered because it came with a lithograph (we are collecting them for the media room we will have one day). Xander hide a spinning toy behind his back as we were leaving. I discovered as we were walking back to our car that he had taken the toy and I made him return it. I then showed the mall policeman and told him that people who take things without paying for it are stealing and that the mall policeman will take him to jail. You have to pay for things you can not take them with it. Xander proceeded to tell everyone in every store we went to after that that they have to pay for what they have they cannot leave the store without doing so. He told them that that is called stealing and that policeman is going to take them to jail if they do. Everyone who got this lecture told Xander that they would not steal and that they would pay for the items that they had. Now Xander is doing his part to fight crime.
Super Xander to the rescue.

Wednesday March 22, 2006

Today starts off like any other day but instead I know that today is a special day. We are driving to New York to pick up great-grandma for here to come to say with us for a little while. The kids are excited Xander keeps asking is it 2:00 pm yet. That is the time I have slated to leave to go and pick her up. Jordan has standardized testing today and I want to make sure that he is done before we go. He has stated that he would like to drive up with me to get her. Therefore, I cannot leave until he is almost done with school for the day. It is approximately a three to four hour drive. I have been know to complete the drive in three but I know that if I leave at 2:00 pm by 5:00 pm I should be in New Jersey and I am going to hit traffic going into New York. My original plan was to leave here at 9:00 am and get there by 1:00 but I was going to leave at 5:00 and would hit traffic until about 7:00. So I am now going to go straight there pick here up get the kids something to eat and come straight back. Why you ask am I putting myself through this torture? It is simple; I am trying to resist the temptation to shop. I know that if I get there early I am going to have to do something to pass the time. It is too cold to go to the park or the zoo. There are enough places to shop that I will be tempted to go there and just look. All those who know my other personality know that I cannot just look for long before I buy. I buy for my kids; I buy for family members I buy for my friends and their children. Heck I buy for anyone. I really need to start a career in shopping. Anyway I am excited about her coming down here and the kids are excited as well.
